Recommended:

  • The ability to walk up and down hills or stairs (sorry, just a fact of Queenstown and our house).

  • Dress in layers with a warm rainproof jacket, beanie, and gloves when you go out.

  • Merino underlayers can be helpful if you are from a warm climate.

  • Comfortable walking shoes are a must, and waterproofing them is helpful.

It is Spring in New Zealand, which means it is still quite chilly, average temperature in September is 13-2 degrees Celsius (55-35 degrees Fahrenheit). There will likely still be snow on the mountains which surround Queenstown with open ski resorts.

Spring skiing is lovely if you want to adventure before or after retreat.
